Pro Action ARRA Family Development Worker - Located in Penn Yan, NY
Family Development Worker: for Family Development Adult Services Department. Provide in-home strength based family development services to families referred by Yates County DSS. Work with parents to strengthen their ability to provide for their children by addressing their barriers to employment. Direct support services include, but not limited to, providing ongoing, individualized assessment of family strengths, needs, and progress; facilitate linkages and follow up to all necessary employment support services; provide information and advocacy as needed; work to collaborate/coordinate with other services delivered by partnering agencies/family resource centers. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Psychology; Family Development Credential preferred; minimum four years experience working with families and knowledge of Yates County community resources and work-support services/programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate/coordinate services with partner agencies. ARRA grant funded position 9/1/09 – 9/30/010. Reliable transportation and driver’s license meeting agency standards required. 37.5 hrs/wk (occasional nights/weekends) with full benefits.
